Second Look
Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated: September 5, 2026
In brief: Second Look does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal information. Your reflections are stored locally on your device.
About Second Look
Second Look is a self-reflection application that guides users through a cognitive behavioral therapy–informed exercise. It is designed for educational and personal self-reflection purposes and is not a substitute for professional medical or mental-health advice, diagnosis, treatment, or emergency assistance.
Information you enter
You may enter reflections, thoughts, feelings, actions, and reminder preferences into the app. This information is stored locally on your device. It is not transmitted to the developer or stored on a developer-operated server.
Information we collect
The developer of Second Look does not collect personal information, health information, usage analytics, advertising identifiers, location information, contacts, photographs, or other user data through the app. Second Look does not require an account and does not contain advertising.
Reminders and device permissions
If you choose to use reminders, Second Look requests permission to display notifications and, on supported Android devices, to schedule alarms or reminders at the requested time. Reminder information is processed and stored locally by your device. These permissions are used only to provide the reminder feature.
Sharing and printing
Second Look allows you to share or print a reflection only when you deliberately select those options. The app then uses Android’s sharing or printing services. Any information you choose to send to another application, person, printer, or storage provider is handled according to your selection and the privacy practices of the receiving service. The developer does not receive a copy.
Data retention and deletion
Your reflections remain on your device until you delete them. You can delete an individual reflection or use the app’s Delete All option. Clearing the app’s storage or uninstalling the app may also remove locally stored reflections and preferences. Because the developer does not receive or store this information, the developer cannot recover it after deletion.
Data security
Second Look is designed to keep reflection data on your device. The security of locally stored information also depends on your device’s security settings. You are encouraged to use a screen lock and other device protections, particularly if you enter sensitive information.
Children’s privacy
Second Look does not knowingly collect personal information from children or from any other users. No information entered into the app is transmitted to the developer.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if Second Look’s features or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will be revised when an update is made.
